Seedling size Cattleya in 2"pot. The picture above is a basic Cattleya Schilleriana.
Cattleya Schilleriana is a rare, compact orchid native to Brazil's Bahia state. Highly prized for its glossy sheen and fragrance, it features 4-inch waxy, mahogany-spotted flowers and a distinct fuchsia-lined lip. Because it originates as a lithophyte and epiphyte, it does best mounted on hardwood or potted in very well-draining, chunky media. - The plants you buying are Cattleya Schilleriana H&R 4N x sib, a sibling cross of a tetraploid (4N) Brazilian orchid species. Renowned for its compact growth and glossy ~ 4 inch, sweetly fragrant blooms, this variation produces striking brown-spotted petals, sepals, and a vibrant, broad magenta lip.
- Because it comes from tetraploid breeding, this specific sib-cross generally yields exceptional seedlings with larger, thicker-substance foliage, robust flowers, and deep, saturated colors compared to standard forms.
Prefers bright, filtered light and warm-to-intermediate temperatures. Requires heavy watering during the hot summer growing season, followed by a dry winter rest. Roots must dry out thoroughly between waterings.
